Quick Note for Users

This reporting page is for internal organisational use only and helps us inform policies and interventions to protect ethnic minority communities in Scotland, in line with the principles of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD). It is not a replacement for official reporting channels. If you are in immediate danger or wish to make a legal/statutory complaint, please contact Police Scotland or the relevant authority.

Community Reporting Policy Statement

As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting equality, inclusion, and the protection of ethnic minority communities in Scotland, we are launching a Community Reporting Page on BEMIS. This platform provides a secure, confidential, and accessible space for individuals to share experiences, incidents, and concerns, particularly relating to racial discrimination, inequality, or social exclusion.

The purpose of this reporting mechanism is to inform and strengthen our organisational policies, programmes, and advocacy efforts. Reports collected here will guide the development of evidence-based interventions, ensuring alignment with the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD). This enables us to prevent discrimination, protect human rights, and promote social justice for ethnic minority communities.

It is critical to note that this community reporting page is for internal organisational use only and is not a substitute for statutory or legal reporting channels. It does not constitute a formal complaint process under the law. Incidents requiring immediate legal, emergency, or statutory action should be reported directly to Police Scotland or other relevant authorities.

Participation is voluntary. Users are encouraged to provide accurate, truthful, and complete information, as the quality of the reports directly impacts our ability to design effective interventions and policies. All submissions will be treated with strict confidentiality and used solely for organisational purposes, including policy formulation, advocacy, community support, and monitoring compliance with CERD-aligned anti-discrimination standards.

Through this initiative, we reaffirm our dedication to safeguarding the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of ethnic minority communities. By sharing your experiences, you help us identify challenges, address discrimination, and build a more inclusive, equitable society for all.

Disclaimer: This form is for internal organisational purposes only, does not replace official or legal reporting procedures, and aligns with CERD principles to inform anti-discrimination policies and interventions
