Hebridean Refugee Festival – Sculpture Making
June 13 @ 14:00 – 16:00
For you, what makes a place ‘home’? Mark the start of Refugee Week by answering this question as we build a large sphere together from foam board. The striking sculpture will take the familiar form of a football, constructed from interlocking hexagons and pentagons that symbolize unity and connection across borders. Each panel will tell a different story, coming together to form a complete whole, just as communities are strengthened by diversity. When the sphere is completed, a projection of Earth across its surfaces will be a powerful visual reminder that movement, resilience, and belonging are shared experiences, echoing the journeys of refugees while celebrating hope and solidarity.
